Welcome to the CyberSC's Apprenticeship Program – Employer Onboarding

CyberSC is working to build a robust pipeline of skilled cybersecurity professionals in South Carolina through targeted training and mentorship. Our USDOL-registered apprenticeship program is designed to support South Carolina employers in growing and retaining talent in the cybersecurity sector.

Why Join the CyberSC Apprenticeship Program?

Participating in our program offers South Carolina employers a unique opportunity to upskill their workforce at no cost, using the latest resources to ensure apprentices are fully prepared for industry certifications. Here’s what you can expect

Program Benefits

  1. Comprehensive Training at No Cost
    Gain no-cost access to Cybrary, a leading online learning platform, to meet USDOL requirements for supplemental education. This resource will prepare your apprentices to sit for certification exams relevant to their roles.

  2. Funding and Incentives
    By participating, your company qualifies for various funding and tax credits, including:

    • SC Apprenticeship Tax Credit: Receive up to $4,000 per adult and $6,000 per youth apprentice per year, with an additional $1,000 per year up to three years after program completion.
    • Apprenticeship Carolina Grant Funding: Up to $4,000 reimbursed per apprentice for related instruction costs.
    • Safal Partners Incentive Funding: Receive $500 per apprentice.
    • Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Funding: Approximately $5,000 per participant towards wage reimbursement and $5,000 for education costs.

Employer Responsibilities

To ensure a successful apprenticeship experience, your company’s role includes the following

  • Wage Payment
    Pay the apprentice a wage that meets or exceeds the minimum guidelines set by the program for the duration of their apprenticeship.

  • On-the-Job Learning and Mentorship
    Provide practical, on-the-job training, supervised by a qualified mentor, to help apprentices gain hands-on experience in their field.




    Next Steps

    To begin, please complete the following

    1. Review Program Standards and Apprenticeship Agreement
      Familiarize yourself with our program standards to ensure alignment with your company's goals and compliance with apprenticeship requirements.

    2. Complete the Employer Acceptance Agreement (Appendix D)
      Sign and submit the Employer Acceptance Agreement to formalize your commitment to the program.

    3. Participate in Compliance Training
      Ensure designated personnel participate in our EEO and Anti-Harassment training to foster an inclusive work environment.

    4. Set Up Your Company Profile
      Create a company profile on our platform and begin posting apprenticeship opportunities to attract top talent.
